This is an original dark comedy/horror pilot.
Main Idea
Annie Roman fears Hell. Her family is supposed to be the perfect image of Southern values, but
Annie's doubts in strict religion, curiosity in her sexuality and new friendship with transfer
student Grace Rathburn are pulling her away from who her father raised her to be. She wavers
between following her father's word or the mystically enticing word of Grace, unsure which, if
anything, will guarantee her salvation.
Main Conflict
Annie struggles between following the word of her father or that of her new and only friend, Grace. She is convinced that one of them holds the key to salvation.
Main Cast
Annie Roman (17) - Main Protagonist. Daughter of the strictly Christian mayor who is newly questioning her religion.
Grace Rathburn (17) - A new arrival who has oddly influential and has her own ideas about religion.
Nick Roman (40s) - Annie's father. He's the town mayor, intensely religious and image- obsessed.
Sandra Roman (40s) - Annie's mother. Equally image conscious, but clearly unhappy with her life as she copes with alcoholism and adultery.
Alex Roman (12) - Annie's younger brother. He suffers from a mysterious health condition that is similarly inexplicably cured by Grace.
